We have an 8X8 foot coop (with 8+ foot ceiling), it houses 6 chickens and 6 guineas that are 3 1/2 months old. I need to separate them because the guineas are picking on the Chickens. Can I divide the space in half? Will that be enough room. They have a 7 X 12 foot run attached to the coop. Have not started free ranging them yet, although I plan to start as soon as I can figure out how I am going to get them back in the coop. We are new to all of this as we have never had any type of fowl before.

I also had to split our coop when our keets and chicks were 3 months old due to bullying by the guineas. We had more birds than you but a 8x16 coop. We have the guineas in an 8x6 section of the divided coop and put in a separate automatic door from the guinea coop to the outdoors. We started with 15 Guinea juveniles in the 8x6 space, rehomed the most poultry aggressive birds, and ended with 9 guineas I that split section. I’d say it was workable but on the small side. We eventually made a new 8x16 ft guinea coop and now have 14 adults and 8 juveniles in it.
