I noticed today that one of my baby chick, would like to sit or lay on the side and stretching her legs. Is anything wrong with this baby? She is eating ok.
If it is eating ok, then the leg to the side laying is not usually a concern. It is just the chick "chilling out" and relaxing. A lot of adult chickens do it when they sunbathe.
Nope, your chick is perfectly normal. Chicks like to do that. If they get under the heat, they will stretch out of their sides, stretch their legs and wings out, and absorb the heat. Or they will do that when they are dust bathing.
Mine do it all the time.
Thank you everybody!!!! I was panicking after I have problem with older chickens and after 2 days return them back to the farm, so watching very careful my baby chicks - they are growing very fast for 10 days looks like they triple in size. Cant wait to relocate them to their very secure area with coop and a lot of space to run and fly
