I have had chickens dying left and right. 2 within the last 24 hours. Only one was acting sick beforehand. I know how to help cure coccidiosis, but I need help identifying it. At first we thought it was lice but have treated for that and I just had another pass away. I have read that coccidiosis cant live in winter but want to rule that out. Im in Nebraska. Any thoughts...please help! Thanks in advance!

They can survive any time of year. How old are the chickens and how long have they been on the property? What are the symptoms? What is the bedding like?
If they are adults, I would send a carcass to this poultry lab for diagnostics to see what is killing them.

Okay. I can't remember the exact ages of the two that died, but I think 5-8 months is around there age. One has been with us since she was a chick, the other I got when she was 5 months. One had symptoms, the other just died. Thanks for the link!

It is very unlikely to be coccidiosis. I'd call the lab to see if they can send you a FedEx label to ship the "medical sample".
I am waiting on a call back from them. Thank you
