Here is a picture of our silkie Darlene. We have always thought she was a female and she even sat on some baby chicks one time. Now, I look at her and she seems to have this comb. Is that normal for girl silkies or should we change her name to Darwin? Thanks.

how old? I also have a silkie that I thought was a boy, the comb was a little smaller than yours, then I found her broody

of course she then squatted for me, does yours squat?

How old is your Silkie? Also what color is she/he? The color is kinda hard to tell for sure from your pic. Maybe another pic from the side showing the color on the body may help.

I know there are some real silkie experts on here, so I am sure someone will be along to help. But they will need to know the age and the color.

I agree, a side shot helps along with the age. Roos have *streamers* on their head which you can see best with a side shot

Thanks for the help. She is about 1 yr old and is supposed to be black but has some brown in her now. I think maybe from spending so much time out in the sun.

Here is another picture. Not a complete side view but the best I had on my computer. I will try to get another one this afternoon.
