If a Mille Fluer Bantam Cochin is crossed with LF Mottled Javas, will the offspring be feather footed? Anyone know what colors they should? If they are feather footed, how many generations would it take to breed it out of them?

I am new to chicken genetics, but I have read that feathered feet is genetic. As for the other portion, I can handle that (I understand how genetics work).

3 generations (not counting the original parents). Why?...your first batch of offspring will be feather footed, but carriers of the recessive non-feathered feet gene. Second batch (if breeding the first batch offspring together) will be 50% feather footed and 50% non-feather footed. Then, you can breed the non-feather footed ones together and get 100% non-feather footed chicks.

Thanks, but what if the F1s were crossed to the clean legged Mottle Javas or Speckled Sussex, How long would that take?
