Yup, probably. Mostly because I'm not actually sure if they have it.Probably?!?!
Well, if they do have SLM, definitely do not use gasoline.Yup, probably. Mostly because I'm not actually sure if they have it.
They're not uncommon. I'm here because all of my flock has them. A woman who keeps a rescue near me says they're quite common where I live (Vashon Island, in the PNW) and she believes it has to do with our forest. I'm not sure if that's true or not. But we don't necessarily get hard freezes in the winter, and I suspect that contributes. It is not a preventative measure.
This is how to treat. Scaly leg mite infestations can get bad and the worse they get, the harder to eradicate.
I don't believe scaly leg mites are that common. I've never experienced them in decades of chicken keeping. Maybe I've been lucky.
I'm not a big one for taking preventative measures other than big ventilation, fresh wholesome nutrition, clean water and general cleanliness.
Chemicals and drugs don't have much use here.
