On my other posts some people said they thought the little brown duck I have looks like it could be a hook bill. The yellow on him goes all of the way under his stomach and his feet and legs are black. He has a little yellow lining around his bill also. If that helps. People said that the bigger duck looks like a Black Swedish. So here is some pictures of them. I think there beaks almost look the same.

I have Hookbills, and your little brown duck is definately not a Hookbill - he's just a little "Roman-nosed".

Dutch Hookbills only come in 3 colors: Dusky, White Bibbed Dusky, and Pure White. The White ones have pink feet and bills, while the Duskies have black bills and feet that are mottled with pink. Your little brown ducky is too light to be a Dusky - they're a a very dark "burnt umber" color.

Also, a Hookbill's convex, curved bill is very obvious after about the first week. I have two Dusky Hookbill ducklings in with six Dark Campbells (who are the exact same color), and the Hookbills are easily distinguished by their bill shape.

Now - since your little brown guy isn't a Hookbill, you really must get a Hookbill!

They're my favorite breed of duck - more people should have them!
