Is he popping the wrong direction?

Hi I have a solo egg hatching and the only other chick I hatched came out quickly on own. This one is slowly pipping, but I’m not sure if he’s going in the right direction. Is he okay and I just need to be patient? The first hole appeared about 8 hrs ago. He is rocking around in there - I see movement - but not making much progress!

Tried to help and removed a lot of shell but he’s still just chirping but not coming out. What should I do now? I’m trying to keep membrane moist but it seems stuck on him
