Hey guys! I have a young roo that I had sitting with me and he opened hi mouth toward the sky like he was stretching his mouth and trying to couch something up.... Is that how they crow? He didn't make a sound, but I thought he might be trying to. (He's young so he might not able to crow yet)

He might have been yawning.

Their a pitiful thing when they start. Like a boy who's voice cracks only their pitch goes higher. The notes come day by day. Some flap their wings and let loose, others just stretch their necks and let loose. You'll know when he starts flexing the pipes. You'll say, what Do you call that!

So, yes he's trying to crow? I might be confused!!!

I will try to see if I can get him to do it again and see if he makes a sound this time, lol.

i have 4 young roos that are around 12 weeks old and they have yet to let out a peep? will they not make a sound if there is an older roo with them that makes all the noise?

My sons roo is 16 weeks and just started trying to crow last week. I though someone was honking some kind of horn at first. Now he's crowing but it sounds like he's in a box.

I've got one other rooster that crows all day and night. Who knows if that gets the little ones started earlier or not.
