She was a small bird, a 7 month old serama hen and she was barely 8 ounces. He can easily get his paws through if she was sleeping near the wire. He dismantled her as he went. It is horrible for me to think about. but the wire is big enough for them to reach in. Her rooster was in the far back corner, safe but traumatized. The animal couldn't reach him.
I am reinforcing the wire with 1/4 inch ratwire.
We don't have any guns either. I never went for my license. Planning on a CO chamber attached to my favorite vehicle's tailpipe, possibly drowning. But CO is much more humane. Tailpipe is likely not, but to produce enough CO from baking soda and vinegar won't be easy with a reticent coon.
