Is it bad to feed to many hard boiled eggs to chickens?

I have 17 chickens and get 12 to 15 eggs a day. (no one to sell them too yet)
It's way to many eggs for me (original plan was to only have 6 chickens - things didn't go to plan)

I've been breaking up 12 hard boiled eggs a day and giving it to the chickens as a treat. They love it. every now and then I skip a day. Is this to much to give them or is it ok.

I do the same but not more than once a week. I give the rest away, to a friend and to an elderly lady with very little income. You might make a few calls and see if there is a local food bank or homeless shelter or senior citizen's center around that can take them.

That's a great idea!

I don't feed mine eggs very often, but I do crunch up the eggshells & feed them back to them for their calcium supplement.

Food bank won't take them here unless you are inspected, BUT the local church has a food pantry for the comunity and they will give you a donation slip for $3.00 a dozen! My ladies aren't laying yet but since my chicken math is like the OP's (only worse) I wound up with 31 hens, I know I'm bound to have WAY tomany eggs. Chicken math, whats a person to do.

I support the idea of donating eggs to the food bank. I do it myself. That said, in answer to your question, giving them boiled eggs every day won't harm them at all.

The eggs will boost their vitamin and mineral intake, not a bad thing. Eggs contain every vitamin except vitamin C. Especially vitamins A, D, and B12. iron and phosphorus, calcium, copper, iodine, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium, zinc, chloride and sulphur.

Food banks would love them, but here in the US we have such weird food rules. They would probably require they be washed for one thing.
I would give each of your neighbors their first dozen and print on the carton the day they were laid (give them the freshest ones) along with your phone number and many will become customers.

I take the really dirty eggs or those eggs with cracks on them and store them in fridge til I have a dozen or more. Then I hard boil them, cool them, crush them and feed them back to the girls. This happens on avg of once a week or so from my 29 hens. They love them.
