is it common for females to charge other chicks?

LOL.. this is my spaz, psycho chick... she's always charging everyone and pouncing on them etc... is this normal for a female or is this roo'ish behavior? ugh... I feel like both are roo's these days! cept for the roo'y looking one is the most passive thing ever to live LOL!

yeah, I did a post on that but they said she was pullet and the cool calm collected one was the cockerel LOL! seems a bit whacked out huh?

so really pullets can be psycho and chargish etc like a roo would? I think the chick is just confused. LOL

I have a cinnamon Queen pullet that I know is a hen because they are sex links and she did that when I introduced a poult to the brooder. She was 3 weeks old and about the same size as the poult. She would charge from accross the brooder. I ended up having to seperate the poult and put her with my auracana pullet that kept trying to protect the turkey. I was able to reintroduce them all a week later and once they figured out the pecking order she stopped charging so much. Now she is out in the coop and the poult is still inside mothering some new babies in the brooder.

It is normal. The lest dominant will do this to the new comers & will keep them in there place as long as she can. Mine was so bad I thought she was going to kill them. I tied a lid off a baby food jar to her leg for a day so every time she took after them it got her attention. It works great & I only have to do it for one day every time I introduce new chicks.

I bought sexed chicks, all hens, and there is all kinds of charging and jumping and chest bumping going on in the brooder at 3 weeks old. I think it's normal, because I can't imagine I accidentally got ALL males.
