Is it harmful to turn on garage light in the night?

We have our brooder in the garage, which is also the man cave. I'm wondering if it's bad/confusing for the chicks when my husband turns the light on after dark to hang out there?

How old are they? Using heat lamp? Don't think it's "bad" but if it's dark & the light goes on, they'll think it daylight and start chirping.

we have three that are about 9 weeks old, and 6 that are about 7 weeks old. They are ready for the coop and it is almost finished! Crossing my fingers for this week!
