Hey there,
After the passing of my little drake Quasi, we adopted a drake named Cole from the local rescue. Apparently they've been having a lot of surrenders because people bought cute ducklings at TSC during quarantine and didn't realize how big and poopy they get.
Anyway, we had room for another, so why not? I ended up leaving with two new ducks but... Another story.
Cole is a 4-5 month old male Pekin. I noticed that when he sleeps, he either doesn't or can't tuck his head in behind him like the rest of the ducks. He sleeps with his bill pointed down in the dirt, but his head isn't on its side or anything. Just wondering if this is a normal duck behavior, since I haven't seen it in the other 4, or something I should keep an eye on. I only worry because Quasi used to do the same - but knowing his history I know he had wry neck as a tiny duckling and didn't come out if it full 100%. Still, I know the shelter vetted him before turning him over, but I'm still a little concerned.
