Is it normal?

Our very first "layer", ever laid her first egg about a week and a half ago. She didn't lay for a couple of days then laid three days in a row. We were starting to worry about her but then DH found an egg today after work. Her first eggs were normal shells and beautiful...Just small. However the one he found today had a very soft shell. She has access to crushed oyster shells because we can't give her layer pellets due to the difference in ages in some of our chickens. Is this normal? Any advice? Thanks in advance!
