Is it ok not to pull out the outdoor tester in a cabinet incubator?

Will it affect the hatch? Mine just broke. I am trying to fix it, but wondered if it will hurt the hatch? I think all it does is test the room temperature. It is a GQF Cabinet incubator.

I would assume that an outside therm would only keep track of the outside temps .. so you should be fine...
