Guys. I just got 4 silkie mixes. Very cute. Excited. They are 2 days old.
My friend bought me two EE's - 1 week old. She wants to meet up and drop them off to me Saturday. Can these chicks all go together even though they haven't been together since day 1?

Scared.

They should be okay together. I just mixed a week old with 16 one day old chicks with no problem. I ws also told that you can add them together with up to a three week age difference. The only thing that I would be careful of is diseases. Normally they suggest keeping any new additions to your flock separate for 30 days unless you get them from a reliable source. I don't know what the recommendations are for baby chicks but you don't want to loose your chicks to add others. If you friend go them from a reliable source or hatched them they should be fine.

Good Luck.

Hi there!

I have added 3 day old chicks to 1 day old chicks with no problem. I have also integrated 8 week sold chicks in with 2-5 year old hens. I recently added (2) 4 week old ducklings in with my 14 week old Pullets, again no problem.

I think with them being so young it would be even less of an issue, and they don't have much of a span between them. I would suggest putting them together for a little while under supervision to see how well they do. If there seems to be aggression you could separate them with wire until they get used to each other (a few hours to a few days).

The only other thing to be aware of is diseases as stated before. I haven't personally had any problems with diseases (that have been apparent), but since they are a week old we can only hope they are healthy and disease free at this point.

I would totally go for it
