is it ok to give a calcium citrate (w/d3) at bedtime when there’s no water in the coop overnight?

or should i wait until morning? i have trouble catching my ducks unless they are in the coop so i do medicines first thing in the morning, or at bedtime. I’ve been waiting till morning so they have water to wash it down but I’d like to be able to give one at night when they look like they really need it.

I don't think it's wise to give what is essentially a powder I assume (?) without the ducks having access to water. Can you not give water at bedtime?

it’s a big pill but i guess its made of compressed powder. even if I put a small bucket of water into their house with them for overnight, there’s no guaranteeing the one I gave the pill to will get any. The bossy ducks surround the water and hog it and play with it all night.

Why can't you give the pill and make sure the one given the pill drinks in the evening?

I could if I force them to go in coop early so I can catch the one or ones who need it , and then let them all back outside for a while, they'll be confused but it can work.

i just thought of some thing… I also have liquid calcium gluconate so if a calcium supplement is needed in the evening, I’ll use that instead of a pill 😊 yay problem solved!
