If you know if someone is a experience chicken owner, is it okay to ask them questions about your flock if you can not find any answers in a thread?

I would think it depends on the person and how much time they have to give to BYC. You are welcome To PM me and if I do not know the answer I'll be glad to help find the answer. Experienced? What is experienced? Some people may have had chickens for decades and not know much about what they have. Other people, in a short time, amass more knowledge than their counter-parts have in numerous years.

Well, by experienced I mean that they seem to give detailed answers, and that they have had chickens. For example, I have been trying to find out how to remove the really tiny maggots around my chickens vent area, but nobody has been answering that specific question!

The trouble with maggots is they can travel through the body and eventually reach the brain. They cause horrible damage en route. When they don't have decaying flesh to feast upon , they will eat healthy tissue. It can take a lot of effort and persistence to irradicate them all.

If you need more information type,"maggots on chicken's vent area", into the ADVANCE SEARCH BOX at the top of this page. Good luck.
