for my free range Black Australorp, Dinner, to eat cat food? He has become best friends with our two outside cats. They all hang out together on the back porch most of the time, unless he's out wandering, eating stuff and drinking from our spring fed stream. He loves their cat food. He gorges himself on it.

I think it would be ok as long as that is not his main staple. But just gorging on it, I don't think is good. I would relocate the cat food to a "non-rooster area".

It may end up being too much protein for him and that is not good. Look at the percentage of protein in the cat food. I bet it's about 30% to 35%. Add this to the amount of protein he may already be getting from his commercial chicken feed and you might br surprised.
