Is it okay for my smaller guinea to who to climb and sleep on me larger new silkie? My guineas are 2&3 weeks and my silkie is about 5 to 6 weeks? Also I have collected quite the range of babies. How long should I keep them seperaterated? My silkie and 3 week olds are together and my 2 week olds and new chicks (week and below) are together. I had a runt when I had 6 guineas all the same age and she got slep on one night and didnt make it, so now I think I'm going to be over protective. This is my first time raising poultry and it's very upsetting to loose any of them.http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb6/6keets/mychickybabies009.jpg

yeah they have a lamp and they sleep at they other end of the brooder, it's 4x2 for 5 of them.

6keets, just make sure it's not too warm for everyone. Keeping the temp just right takes some monitoring. Panting is a sign it's too warm and huddling too cold....young ones paying no attention means just right.the larger birds will add more heat to the coop.

Piling is common with young birds until they become more confident.
