Hello BYC‼️ hope everyone’s doing well!!

as my title suggests, I have a question lol:

Is it possible for a chick to display both female & male characteristics?

I have a sweet little brood of RIRs & there is one little peep that I cannot figure if a cockerel or pullet... I thought cockerel at first, then seen more pullet looks, now seems to be cockerel again 🤣.

They are about 3 weeks old now, I think - March 30th is hatch date I was given (give a few days earlier, I received them in the mail March 31st & some seem to be a bit older than others)

Now based on what I see in the wings, I guessed a pullet.... but now beside my known cockerel, I’m thinking ... cockerel lol

.... female like wings but big beefy boy like legs & the comb appears slightly larger than the others .... I must point out however, even the ones I know are pullets have some distinctive combs & the one cockerel I know is a cockerel is as distinctive as the pullets lol at least I have a character flock :lau

I’d like for it to be a boy as I made “chicken math” :fl to ensure correct numbers of what I want them all for 😂😂 which is a flock for laying & two for hatching & selling chicks; one boy makes math dumb 🤪

At 3 weeks there's not much gender specific behavior.
4-6 weeks will tell the tale on males of most breeds by comb/wattle size and color.
Wing feathers and leg size are not such great indicators.
