I got a male and female three months old dwarf lion heads from Amish breeder and he says there’s no problem letting them live together , don’t need to separate them.
I was thinking that if she got pregnant and then started acting like she was going to have the babies, I would separate him out at that time instead of now , so she doesn’t get immediately pregnant back to back?
Out in the wild, nobody separates males and females
But is it because we have messed with their genetics that we have to?

Out in the wild rabbits don't live long, and neither do most of the kits. The female will get aggressive when pregnant, and the male will constantly mate her.

Most young does can be bred at 4-12 months depending on breed. It's best to wait until she is mostly full grown, with 7-10 months being best.

Personally I'd separate them. Stress can sometimes cause a doe to abort or even eat her babies, so it's best she has her own cage and feels safe in it long before she's pregnant. People do colony breed, but often there's a lot of fighting and you can end up with a lot of rabbits. Just depends what your goals are.

Ok guess what I just sold my boy. Listed him and he sold in ten minutes ( a Facebook group) now my plan is to go back where I got them and get another girl so I have two girls. I saw him the other day he still had girls. Hopefully they’re still there tomorrow. I just don’t want a lone bunny to be lonely. it’s sad for me because he’s cuddly and I love him, but my girl is too . All in all it was a good decision I think. Here’s his posting pics - bye sweet Clover! Your new owner is beautiful kind young lady and I believe you will have a great life!
