Is it safe to let chickens on fertilized lawns?

I get my lawn maintained with fertilizer and at times weed killer. Is this safe for chickens?? I will have a permanent pen but would like to also have a lightweight tractor to move them around.

I strongly recommend that you wait at least 5 days and two waterings/rains before letting your chooks out on a manicured lawn that has had Scotts weed & feed or similar brand. Make sure all chemical pellets are totally dissolved and gone.

We switched to completely organic fertilizers because of the chickens. I don't have to worry about burning the lawn, and the chickens don't have to keep off the grass.
