Y'all my Easter eggers have been on strike since November due to the cold weather so i was pretty excited and happy to see this Blue egg today!
My Brown layers have been giving me 1-2 eggs a day but this was the only egg i got today!
16 lazy hens
🤣 I can't wait for Spring!
I am eggcited for hatching season!

I have a second hen that is looking at the nesting box with an expression that says, "I remember doing something really important in there before. What was it?"
🤣🤣 it's funny how they don't mind eating all the food but laying and egg is just too much work šŸ™„šŸ¤£

It's been since....earlyish October? for my 4...no one seems to care about doing that ever again. We moved them to a new fancy giant coop Thanksgiving weekend. Two of them have their feathers all back in(they'll be 2 April 1) and their combs are getting darker but alas...I had no idea I would have a 4 month dry spell every year! Hoping my Brahma gets on it soon, they are supposed to be winter layers, no? At least they are all roosting now, the little starter coop I had before they couldn't all fit...they free range on half an acre, with pellet feed and oyster shell. I have done all the things...and I am one impatient chicken lady.

All my "Old Girls" (2.5yrs old) laid all through their first winter now I'm lucky if i get an egg a day from the brown layer flock.
The easter eggers started to lay in the middle of winter last year but this year nada.
My new pullets were hatched in May and I'm pretty sure they are to ones I'm getting 1 or 2 eggs a day from.

Super confusing! Yet the weather has also been pretty crazy so i guess I understand šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤£
