[/IMG]Hi everyone! My chicks are now 6 weeks old. They are all Buff Orpingtons, but one stands out more than the others. She has a red thingy under her chin and her comb is darker....could my girl be a rooster, or is it too early to tell? Also, she's been opening her mouth like she's yawning but no sounds that I've heard yet...thanks!

At six weeks, it's still a bit early. By 8 to 10 weeks, most cockerels are obvious, with big red combs and a darker shade of buff on their shoulders.

Only 6 weeks? I will say cockerel. :)

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X3, at six weeks looks like a cockerel.
