I was thinking about putting lyme on the run to eliminate some smell and clean it out. However, i know my chickens will be scratching in it and eating it. Is this ok?

If you use the lime that's also added as calcium supplement to animal feeds, then yes, it's safe. It says on the bag whether it's ok for animal consumption.

I use agricultural lime regularly and even when they get it in their eyes, there's no problems. They dustbathe in dirt that's rich in it and I've never had a problem with respiratory issues either. I highly recommend lime for pathogen and parasite control, it really helps.

Best wishes.

Thanks so much!
