My husband picked up meat bird feed by mistake. Is it ok to feed it to our 3 laying chickens, or is the fat content too high?

It should be fine so long as they have a source of calcium.

I have a Sprout feed sheet here... Layer is 4% fat and Meater is 3%. I don't know what specific brand you have, so I don't know what the percentages are for sure on yours, but they're prob'ly similar.

I just bought a bag of Meater to mix in with my Layer feed so that I can raise the percentage of protein. My Buff Orps have been lazy layers, and I'm hoping this perks them up a bit.
