Is my chickens butt okay??

It has been like this for a while and seems to be losing more feathers down there, is it a molt??? Also she been laying weird eggs with a lot of extra calcium on them.

love the title, lol i wonder if it may be mites ? looks very red and tender. look up higher in the feathers and see if there are any there. have you seen any of the others picking on her?

I agree with granny hatchet, she may have mites or lice. Check in the feathers both below the bare area and above it. Also look beneath the neck feathers, as mites like to hide their, and in the tail feathers. If you see mites, treat with Sevin Dust.

if she were a frizzle then that could happen on its own but shes not so i would treat for mites even though you dont see them . a bad diet i guess would do it. if she is lacking in something but i doubt that is the case. so that leaves another chicken doing it to her. that is all i can think of. hope she gets all right.
