Hi! We have a mallard duckling (8 others, we found them outside of our house and took them in) and one specific one seems like it’s dying! It’s too late at night for us to go get medicine, and we need help ASAP! It’s bobbing it’s head while opening and closing its mouth, and it’s moving around while trying to sleep. Please help us!

Sorry your duckling isn't doing well. :(

Do you know roughly how old they are?
I edited the original thread and put the video! Please watch it and if you have any helpful tips please give them! I love all of them and I don’t want any of them to die.

Have you checked inside his mouth and throat? Kinda look like he's got something stuck down there...
He’s still incredibly wild (we found him and siblings without a mother and took him in) and he’s absolutely terrified of us, so we can’t get him still. But we’ll certainly try and I’ll update you!

Final update. Our duckling sadly passed away a couple of minutes ago. Thank you for everyone who tried to help, but we caught it too late.

Sorry for your loss.
If it makes you feel any better, I don't think there's anything you could have done.
That's death gasping. My little baby did the same thing before she passed at 6 days old. Failure to thrive I think.

Oh no! Sorry for your loss! :(
Since they were wild, he probably couldn't handle the transition to an indoor life close to humans. I wish you the very best with your other ducklings! :fl
