I recently rescued a duck egg from my backyard - it was the only one of the bunch not eaten by another animal. Tonight I candled the egg with a flashlight and this is what I found. I can't tell if these lines are veins growing or if the egg is cracked. Can anyone tell me? For reference, I believe the egg is between 12 and 14 days old, and this is the sixth night I've had it in incubation at home. Thank you!

Looks like a baby to me - but seems not developed enough for 10-14 days old. This is my duck egg at one week incubation
The blood veins look dark on yours - it is possible the baby died but i would keep going and see if there is more growth in a few days.
good luck!

Thank you so much for getting back to me! I’ll keep going with it and hope for the best. Good luck with your little ones!
