So I’ve got a banty that has started laying on eggs more consistently. She’s always been the more maternal one in the flock (she’s about 8 months old). I never really thought anything of it. But lately she’s been puffing up at me when I go to collect eggs. Still didn’t think anything of it until last night when I noticed the areas between her breast and legs didn’t have feathers on them. The area in the middle of her breast still has feathers so I couldn’t remember if that was a “normal” area to have feather or not. I’ve taken a picture of her as best I could to show you. Do you think she’s broody?

So what’s the best solution? Broody breaker, cold water, or let her hatch some?

That depends on you. If you dont want baby chicks right now then breaking her is best. I don’t know how cold it is where you r I’m in the north east so I wouldn’t use the water method. I have a lot of Broodies so I use the cage method.it works like a charm

I don’t like the water method because it seems so cruel. I’m thinking of doing the cage method or let her hatch some bitties.
