When I fed my animal this morning I noticed that my female African ( possible cross with chinese) was laying flat on her stomach and not moving! I that she was dead!

But when I walked over there and touched her I could see that she was in fact not dead. She is sitting in a concave in the straw. This goose is normally very skittish and wild but when I walked over to her she didn't even move! she didn't even move when I touched her! is this normal behaviour for a setting goose?
She has since got off of her nest to walk around with the other geese so I went to check what was in the nest. I found 6 eggs!
They've been hiding them from me! shes been off the nest fro about an hour now

I hope the eggs are still good

Well when they are broody they pretty much have to stay with the nest so they hide. A goose hides by putting its head to the ground and freezing. No Head sticking up to attract attention perfectly still from a short distance and a height of 18 inches she will look just like that pile of manure in the picture. A white goose is even hard to see when they are hiding.

Once she starts incubating the eggs she will sit on them most of the time but it is normal for them to get off the nest for a few minutes during the day. The vast majority of the time she will be sitting though. While they are in the process of laying the clutch over a period of days they do not sit on them so that is why you have your six eggs and didn't realize she was even laying them

It's very likely that she hasn't finished laying yet. The eggs will be fine until she starts the incubation process and then it seems like an eternity for the 30 plus days until they hatch.
