Is my gosling okay?

I have 8 goslings. They hatched over the span of four days. The last one to hatch didn't completely hatch by himself. I ended up helping him after seeing the struggle for a few minutes and he was stuck to the egg. It was like he was covered in a gelatin like glue. I ended up rinsing him off in warm water because he was all stuck together. He is doing fine now and is all fluffed up BUT the down on his head and neck is super short. Any ideas on why it's like this?

Awww! Maybe the longer down was stuck in the egg goo. He should be fine. Congrats on the goslings!

Did the parents or other goslings nibble the head down while trying to hatch?

No, all the other goslings were in the brooder. He's doing well though!
