I was thinking of painting the inside of my chicken coop but then I started to wonder is it harmful to them?

Mine is painted. If we paint the inside of our house we should be able to paint the inside of a chicken coop. right?

I wouldn't do it... They would peck the paint and the fumes may harm them. The paint would also get messed up. Again, I wouldn't do it, but it's your choice. Good luck!!!

Paint it. You'll like it better. Washable exterior paint and you can really scrub the coop down in the summer. It'll seal the wood, keep moisture out and make everything last longer. Just have it dry out and cure before letting the chickens in.

Agreed, paint it. I painted mine, and although they only sleep in their coop they do not peck at it either way. Boat deck paint is a good option because it's a good sealant and it's ment to be scrubbed. Mine has held up well to cleaning/chickens
