Is rusty coop fencing safe for the chickens?

I am working on repairing an old walk-in chicken coop that the last owners of the house had and it has been used for storage for a long time. It has a tin roof with wooden rafters and the walls are made of metal poles that create a frame for fencing. They had fencing on those poles, but it is so old that the top half is pretty much gone all around. However, most of the bottom half is still there, but it's very rusty. It's rusty, but it is still pretty strong. So I was wanting to replace the top fencing and reinforce the bottom fencing with chicken wire. What I want to know is "is the rusty wire is safe to be near the chickens?" Will it poison them somehow? And if so would it work if I took it down and moved it to the top half, then replaced the bottom?
Here's a picture of part of the wall.

I don't think it will affect them at all but it won't stop anything from getting in, most any predators can rip through chicken wire, it might be more expensive but look into hardware cloth it will make a huge difference.
