So i just got my hens over the weekend. He said that they were black sex links but they dont fit the description(i dont think, will post pictures later) Anyway i came home to check on them and there was a hen in the nest box. i left them alone thinking she was laying. Came back 20 min later and she is still in there so this time i watch her. for like 15 min she fusses over the two fake eggs that are in the box tucking them under her and settling in. She seems content to be just sitting on the fake eggs in the nest and piling the shavings around her, making the nest the way she wants it. Is she just occupying her time while she lays or could she be broody? She is about 10 months old.

Too soon to tell. Some of mine like to hang out for an hour or more when laying their eggs. If she wants to stay there overnight instead of going to roost then I'd be thinking broody.
