I got some Welsummers with ages ranging from a couple of months to over a year- large fowl. The oldest girl, looks like she should be laying with red wattle and comb that are fairly good sized. I picked her up tonight and I can feel something hard in her bum the size of an egg and hard as a rock. I think that maybe she has been this way for a few days, but I have watched her and she acts fine and eats and pecks and scratches around. She does seem a bit light, like maybe she should have a bit more weight on her.
I am thinking tomorrow morning I should follow the advice of sticking her in warm water for a while and getting her to relax and then see what happens. I haven't gotten any eggs out of any of them and I got them two weeks ago. They are my only outdoor chickens right now.
Thanks guys for any help in this matter.

I cant really help...but think I might have a problem with a young duck who just started laying..three eggs then nothing for the last two days.... I just picked her up and saw she is looking different around the vent...Bruised too maybe. I couldnt feel anything... But she is walking funny. She is missing some feathers around the vent too. Poor little girl- I was about to bring her in for a bath in the tub too...

I hope your girl is ok...and you start getting somoe eggs soon too. Such a worry....
