We have 6 sebrights and 2 tiny blue tinted chicks that are about 2 weeks old in a brooder box inside. I've been finding the tiniest "blue" chick on it's back at all hours of the day and night. At first I thought "How cute!", but now it is actually starting to bother me.

The other chicks peck at it like they are trying to get it up, and it will often lay there, eyes open, not fussing. I will set it upright, and it will run through the brooder, eat, drink, and before I know it, it will be on it's back again.

I'm not really new to chickens, I've just never seen this before. I'm hoping she's ok, but she is beginning to worry me!

Also - anyone know that the "blues" may be? They are smaller than the sebrights, and hubby thought the eggs were seramas, but I don't know. Hubby and his buddy hatched 8 different breeds, most standard, and this group.

I don't know what she is, and I don't know whether she is sick. (Real helpful, aren't I?) I have learned from reading here that lots of neurological problems respond to vitamins, though, so I'd pick up some of those liquid infant vitamins and the drug store (no iron) and put 2 or 3 drops on its beak every day for a while. Won't hurt, might help.

Thanks for responding! I had vitadrops for small birds, and added it to their water. She's probably fine, but finding her like that always scares me - lol

She was very active today, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed, she is such a sweetie!
