The darker spot in the 2 pics is the damp ground, I cant place the mister anywhere in the coop without the ground getting at least slightly wet.

someone once told me that wet-ish/damp ground in a coop is really bad, but my silkies dont seem to have any problems with it. i need to know if this is OK to have in the coop or not. silkies also attempt to drink water from the ground from time to time but always know there is no water to drink but must go to waterer to drink water

its not wet enough where the chickies get mud feet but its not dry enough that their feet are completely dry. the scales/skin on their feet feels slightly wet. no infection or anything bad seeming to happen yet, yes the coop has good ventilation

i need the mister for cooling as i live in gilbert AZ where the temps are usually 125f on the hottest days. yes they have shade all over and always have water

and yes i was onto of the coop perched like a chicken, i can do this now as i love tree climbing now and just started the tree climbing hobby 2 weeks ago.

family thinks i am turning into a chicken. maybe i am turning into a chicken

In my mind/opinion, a coop is a building and the run is a fenced in area accessible from the coop.

My run gets moist/wet with snow. No issues, unless it turns into a mud hole. Moisture in the coop is not good.

Is your moisture in a building or outside?
its outside. the coop is mainly what they live in, altough its massive its 8 feet tall, 30 feet long and 25 feet wide

i have a run 3 times larger than that and let them out every friday and if im feeling nice that day i might let em out for an hour before herding them back into the coop

As long as it is outside you are good. I hose down my perches and stands every couple days in my run the ground gets wet but not muddy. I have no problems with their feet.
