Is this normal or is sign of being sick? If so, what could be the problem?

Can you squirt some saline in her eye? See if it comes off? How is she behaving?

Does she have any symptoms like coughing, sneezing, mucous?

Have you added new birds recently?

She may have some conjunctivitis; you can flush the eye with saline and apply Terramycin in the eye a couple of times a day to see if that helps.

She is a new bird to our flock - we had just picked her up at the time of this post. Not knowing what we were dealing with, we returned her to the farm she came from. Thanks for the reply.

Yep. Same bird.

I think returning her was a good idea.
