Is something wrong with my hen?

We have 3 Easter Egger hens. On occasion for the last few months, when I go to collect the eggs, there is egg yolk on the EE egg shells. I know that all of the EEs are laying just fine since I will collect 3 EE eggs in a day and they are all healthy-looking eggs with hard shells. I first suspected an egg eater, but when there are 6 eggs from 6 egg layers and yolk on the eggs, I think it is safe to rule out egg eating. All of my hens appear healthy and we haven't had a problem with a single egg as far as soft eggs, irregular shape, etc.

Is this something I should be worried about?

ETA: I don't think it is from one of my Barred Rocks since the egg yolk is most often on EE eggs. However, if it is, I still have the issue of collecting 6 healthy eggs a day from the 6 hens.

That is a mystery!
It would confuse me too...maybe someone else has seen this kind of thing. I haven't heard of a hen laying more than once a day on a regular basis...maybe it's possible.

I suspect no one knows or has any guesses, if those are the only 9 hens you have, and you are sure it is egg yolk.

It sounds a bit odd for you to be getting an egg every day from every hen. I would expect you to be getting about an average of 7 eggs a day from 9 hens.

I suppose it is possible that an egg broke inside a hen and you are seeing the remnants on an egg.

We get between 4 and 6 eggs a day from the 6 hens. But, days that have 3 EE eggs or all 6 eggs (which happens at least twice a week), we know that it isn't a broken egg or egg eater. Yes...it is most definitely yolk. It is like wet yolk that dries on the eggs. No evidence of egg white anywhere and no "cooked" egg. It is really weird. It doesn't happen everyday, but still a few times a week. We suspect one of the EEs since it is usually on a green egg.
