I have caught Sophia setting on her eggs over the last couple of days but not consistently. She was on her perch roosting last night but when I went out this morning she was on her nest. She is not sitting like she does when she is laying, she is all fluffed out and actually sitting not doing her usual squat. Will she start sitting on her eggs consistently or should she do that from the start? Will she stop laying if she starts sitting?
Also hen number 2, Lacey, is much bigger then Sophia, just as big as my males, is that an unusual size for a hen? She is the one with white flight feathers. She has laid 2 eggs so far since I have been keeping her penned up with Bob. Are certain hens more apt to go broody then others or do they all still have that natural instinct?
