Is the salt test an accurate?

I just did it with my new hygrometer and it reads 64% after 9 hours. So it appears that it reads 11% under. Is it a reliable test?

barb, that actually makes me feel better. mine read 64 as well. the next one read 70. I have been using them both and adding 11 points to one and 5 points to the second. im on day 19 right now. guess i will c. good luck!!
