We only have one brand of organic feed here. Are there any non organic feeds that are NON GMO? That's a mouthful!

Thanks

I got a 50 lb bag of organic grower for $18, for me not having many birds it's not that big of a deal, but I can see if you had a large flock it would add up quick.

My local feed store sells Payback, which is a hugeomoungous corporation, and I just don't know if im ok with that. However, as mentioned, a bag of organic is like, $10 more and I just can't do that right now.

Im going to look for more options.

Hiland Naturals in Ohio sells both Non GMO & Organic Feed. I know it is available in a few places in PA & Texas. Check out their website to see their distributors.

I may be wrong, but I would really really doubt that there is. If you're going to spray herbicides and pesticides on your crop, and chemically fertilize it, then the GMO crops are going to do much better with fewer chemical inputs then non GMO crops.

I understand not wanting GMO, but why do you want non-organic? I'm assuming for a savings on cost?

I'm lucky that I have a source for non GMO, organic, soy free feed near me. Does it cost more? Yes. Do I think it's worth it to not be putting chemicals into our environment and rogue genes into our crops? Yes. Would I rather support a local family farmer who is farming the "right" way rather than a giant corporate farm with strong ties to the chemical/biotech firms? Yes.

I admire you for doing your research, and questioning our food system. The deeper you dig, the more depressing it can get. Look locally. So much of the cost of the chemically produced GMO feed is the transportation. You may find a local organic feed mill that has something at a reasonable price. Good luck!

I'm not sure where the OP is from, but I have family in VT/NH, and I've always been surprised how cheap organic feed is up there. Have you checked out Green Mountain Feeds in Bethel? I'm not sure if they sell directly or not.

It's great that you can at least buy local. That's not an option for some people in the country.

Here organic is about $5 more per bag. DEFINITELY worth it! Check out my page on organics; http://whitemountainsranch.webs.com/whyfeedorganic.htm
