Is there a problem with this?

Hi i just got my first chicken and im worried because her comb is pale and has something black on it, it might be a scab or something. Is there something i should do to help her?

How old is she? It would help if you could post a pic, but you can't because you're too new. Is the spot scabby?
Does it wash off? Does it seem to hurt?

I dont really have a picture thats close enough to see it but i can take one tommorow. Shes a rhode island red and i got her at a auction so im not sure how old, im guessing a few months since she hasnt started laying eggs yet and shes small.

I f your hen is quite young the color of her comb will be pale until she starts to get ready to lay eggs. Then it gets fleshy and dark red.
My hens sometimes get dark spots but it doesn't seem to be a problem.
Let's hope it is nothing more than newbie nervousness.
