Is there always a color "hiding" under a white silkie?

Hey everyone I have a question. Is there always a different color underneath a white silkie? My silkie flock consists of colored hens and a pure white roo. I only hatch eggs from my 2 best silkie hens, one is blue and the other is buff. Whenever I hatch eggs from my buff hen, the chicks are ALWAYS buff. And when I hatch eggs from my blue hen, I've gotten white, blue, and splash chicks.

So is there always a different color hiding under a white silkie?

If your only cock is the white, then he must have at least one copy of blue if you are getting splash chicks, and possibly two since you did not say you get black chicks. Since you get whites, the hen carries one copy of white. Since your buff hatches buffs, the cock is also be gold.
