Depends on what you are feeding them now. For chickens to mature and develop in a healthy manner, they should have unlimited access to chick starter/grower till they reach maturity. On a proper diet, males will reach maturity by 4 to 6 months of age, depending on breed. Females will reach maturity between 5 to 8 months, depending on breed. If you are just feeding scratch or cracked corn, it will take them significantly longer to develop, and they would be at risk for serious health issues due to nutrient deficiencies that may impact their reproductive systems negatively.
