I posted about my chickens sneezing quite some time ago. No other sympoms of any kind. No runny noses no odd poop all are eating like normal... Is there anything actually wrong with them? They all seem just fine! Aside from the sneezes that is. The weather will be getting warmer soon and I plan on changing the litter in the coop. Is the dust inside the culprit?? They have the ability to go outside everyday but on the really cold windy days they don't. Maybe that makes it a little worse?? Any ideas are welcome and thanks!

I am sure that if they get dust into their nostrils that could make them sneeze. Might not be a sneeze, it may be them clearing the dust out or blowing it out.

I can always tell when mine get down to the powdery crumbles because I will hear one or two of them honk like a goose.. When I hear that, I know I need to refill the food container.. LOL

Aside from the dust, ammonia fumes could bother their nostrils. So be sure and get down to floor level and check for smells. This time of year, trying to get the litter to hang on for another month, smells can get out of hand.

I have one little EE that gives a little sneeze when she goes from the henhouse into the run, or vice versa, or whenever she goes out of the run into the yard. Oh, yeah, and after she drinks water -- a tiny sneeze. She's very healthy, just a sneezer. And she's sneezed since she was a tiny chick.

And my Lilith must be her sister. Lilith sneezes during morning scratch time. She tries to gobble too fast.

Ok thanks everyone!
I figured if they have been acting normal all of this time that they must be healthy. I give them plenty of healthy stuff to eat and I add cod liver oil maybe once a week. And they love yogurt. I just feel like it has to be dust. Due time for some early spring cleaning! I was wanting to get some more chicks soon and I'm trying to make sure all is well. Don't want too many fish in the fryin pan if ya know what I mean!
