My daughter says this is a roo, but compared to the other picutures I have seen I think this is a pullet. She will be 10 weeks old on tuesday.

Im really not an expert, but i agree with your daughter...looks like a roo to me

My reasoning is that her tail is a bit long and looks like it has saddle feathers

She/He looks like some of the other EE's hens I have seen on here. That is why I still have hope!

Cockerel. His face, feathering, and coloration gives it away. A pullet wouldn't get red like that on the back, or have the gold shinny hackle (pointed neck feathers). She would also not have a curly tail with that much black.

I can see where you'd think pullet, but look closely at the darker shading on the wings/shoulders. That won't happen on a pullet, that's roo coloring.
